It was a beautiful haven with a dramatic backdrop of the mountains and it was just what I needed and my sons enjoyed it too. It really is crucial to hire a car as it is remote but once you are used to the roads which are mountainous you can get to some breathtaking beaches on the South coast and gorges. If you want decent restaurants Rethymno is about 20 minutes away and there is much to see ther... plus

Perfect! A warm welcome and dream villa. The host was very good advice, and responsive in all circumstances.

We had a wonderful family holiday with our two and four-year-old children. The setting is remarkable. If you love nature and want to be undisturbed, this is the perfect place. Manos and his team are incredibly attentive. The pool was always cleaned. Many thoughtful touches were provided upon our arrival (welcome, fruit basket, information on activities, map of small villages and supermarkets, etc.... plus

Very warm welcome from Eleni; a fantastic house in the heart of the countryside. The facilities live up to the standard of the house, and what a view!

Very nice place: very calm among sheeps and goats up in the hills. Beautiful house and pool.

Great accommodation with fantastic mountain views. Plenty of space, very clean, and quiet – we would have loved to stay longer

The place is in a great location. You are on your own and really have your peace and quiet here. The view of the valley is fantastically beautiful at any time of day. A real oasis of calm and perfect for getting away from the stress of everyday life and relaxing. Apart from the sheep and goats, you can only hear the birds chirping here. Really a dream. Every thing was fantastic and my family and I enjoyed it very much. We definitely will be back. 5 stars.

A truly breathtaking location. It’s so peaceful and perfect if you want to escape the noise and tourists. The sound of the Shepards and their flocks, the birds of prey, the mountains surrounding us, seeing sunrise and sunset was just wonderful. It felt like stepping back in time. The house is very pleasant, quiet, and located in an exceptional setting. The view is magical. This is our second stay, and we will return with great pleasure. Thank you for your welcome.

the villa was fantastic. It was spacious, beautiful and with a stunning view. We loved the swimming pool, the balcony and the garden area. We had a wonderful time. By car both coastlines are either 20 or 40 minutes away from the villa, so we also explored Crete. Thanks for the hospitality!

How to put into words how this stay made us feel? Like we didn’t ever, ever want to leave! First, even though we loved the pictures, the space inside was even better. And the views off the balcony? Unbelievably peaceful, serene, mesmerizing…we just fell in love with it. Villa Limeri became our home base for just over a week and while we enjoyed going out and about to the south side of the island, ... plus

The most amazing view in the world. Our stay at the villa was wonderful! We were able to relax immediately; it was quiet and peaceful, and the surrounding nature is breathtaking! Great tavernas are within a short drive.

Fantastic house! Breathtaking view. Holiday feeling reached within 5 minutes. Very friendly introduction to all rooms. Easily accessible and within a short distance of several beautiful places. Really recommended!

Me, my wife and our two teenagers stayed for one week in mid-April in Limeri Villa in Monopari, and had an absolutely wonderful time. The weather was perfect and all of Crete was in full bloom. We all fell deeply in love with the Island! The villa was perfect for our needs - more than we expected. The stone house itself is very spacious and is built in a genuine "Cretan" style, and has all commodi... plus

Better than the pictures. The house is beautiful and the location unparalleled with mountains on all sides, sheep and goat pastures as far as the eyes can see. Beautiful house in the most stunning location. The views took my breath away every morning. It was so peaceful and tranquil - a great place for a total reset. The pool was fantastic too. Great host and really great house! The whole package is highly recommended!

Beautiful villa.! Just what we were looking for our week in Crete.

Manos' place, Villa Limeri, was so lovely. We stayed there with our three teenagers for 2 weeks. If you're looking for a real sense of what it's like to live in the Cretan countryside and mountains, then this is for you. It was our first time visiting Crete and this villa is a great location for exploring the north and south coasts as you're pretty much in the centre of the island. Jenny and her m... plus

Rustic charm, comfortable and spacious villa with great views of the Cretan countryside. Ideal for a slow and peaceful holiday experience. If booking for a larger group, keep in mind that two of the bedrooms have queen-sized beds, but one of them is upstairs and its bathroom can feel a bit cramped compared to the very spacious one downstairs. Perfect location with easy access to both Rethymno (25 ... plus

We had a great holiday. It's a very special place - beautiful, peaceful and private. From the balcony, we watched the sun rise each morning and the sun go down each evening, enjoying the wonderful view over the valley...listening to the sound of sheep & goat bells and cicadas, and watching vultures, peregrines and swallows. In the heat of the day, the pool area is perfect, with always somewhere sh... plus

Spacious and stylish holiday home, very private, no neighbors, very quiet, remote but still within easy reach to shopping (Rethymno 30min), beautiful beaches in the south of Crete (e.g. Plakias 30min) and plenty of village tavernas. Staff attended discreetly to the pool and cleaning every two days. All rooms have excellent mosquito nets at the windows. Views of the mountains is excellent. Kitchen ... plus

An amazing house and a stunning location, this was all we hoped it would be and more. The mountain views from the terrace and pool were spectacular and we were happy to simply sit and soak up the surroundings. An easy drive to Rethymno and other sites on the north coast, but also an enjoyable drive to the stunning beaches on the south coast. Sadly no restaurants in walking distance, but that is th... plus

Of all the places we have stayed in our 50+ years of travel, Limeri Villa was our favorite setting. Every morning we sat on the deck with our tea, watched the sun come up over the mountains and the circling hawks, listened to the bells and bleating of goats and sheep, smelled the sweet, fresh Cretan air. At night we joined locals for wonderful meals and conversation at the nearby tavernas. Afterno... plus

Very nice and space villa, with a stunning view from there terrace, very quiet and peaceful, nice pool. The villa was gorgeously situated in the mountains - it was the perfect, secluded spot for a relaxing getaway. I would recommend the villa for groups wishing to unwind and enjoy nature. Rethymno and local beaches were also easily reachable by car. We really appreciated the cleaning staff who came in multiple times during our stay; they kept the place pristine without disturbing us. We had a lovely stay in this villa for our holidays in Greece. The only thing you can hear are the crickets and the sound of the goat's bells. it's very relaxing. And the view on the mountain is Amazing. The outdoor space under the shadow of the tree is awesome to have dinner and watch the sunset. The only 2 negative things I would say would be : the beds were too soft for me and the aircon wasn't... plus

We have had a fantastic 10-day vacation at Villa Limeri. It is a very lovely house, located in a very quiet and peaceful area, with an absolutely amazing view of the mountains and olive grove. The owner often came to sweep the terraces and clean the pool, which we gr... plus

Superbe vue , grande maison, piscine agréable , endroit très calme .

Very quiet, remote location, not really suitable for young children, but perfect for a relaxing holiday - exactly as described and good value - visiting pool cleaner / cleaners very polite and thorough.

The house is superb and what about the landscape!! Lost in the mountains you can observe and hear the herds of goats and sheep moving around, seeing the sun set over the mountains, it's idyllic! You are in the middle of nature so you have to have in mind that there can be all kinds of insects, including ants and mosquitoes! But nothing likely to taint your stay! Absolutely fantastic stay. Amazing private villa on Crete. Would return again in a heartbeat.

We stayed with our family 10days at the villa and loved the private location with that amazing view. The house was super lovely, very clean and we had everything we needed for our stay. We’d definitely come back next time we’re on C... plus

Villa Limeri offers great views and a very quiet atmosphere with plenty of space. We particularly loved the big terrace with mountain views for dinner and the spacious living room with plenty of light coming in from the huge windows. My main concern as a mother of 2 young kids (2.5 and 4 years old) was the lack of security around major drop-off points. The wall around the terrace is extremely ... plus

Everything just perfect

Fantastic Location, wonderful views, peaceful private dramatic location, overall we enjoyed our stay despite frustrations with the property. Building itself is beautiful and well designed and stylishly renovated. Photos on this site show it in a very favourable light. We were a group of five friends and stayed for a week. The house and location was amazing. Quite remote and little that could be walked to on foot but the views from both terraces and the pool were worth it! No neighbours too close by, you can just hear the goats being herded and a lot of cicada bugs in the trees, especially in the morning, but you get used to the sounds haha. The house is really ... plus

We highly recommend Villa Limeri! It is incredibly peaceful and beautiful! Whether reading on the comfortable outdoor sofa or relaxing by the pool while overlooking the breathtaking landscape or enjoying the interior of the wonderful villa, special memories were made!

Manos has been providing us with additional information on the house, the area and the island from the moment we booked. The information on the house was accurate, helpful and nice to have upfront. Also nice was the information on possible additional services that were available through his agency. All communication and follow up was quick and clear. In short, nice and professional.

With breathtaking views, endless mountains on all sides, and a perfect cool breeze, this retreat is one of the nicest and most well-equipped you will find in Crete. We had a really fantastic stay at this villa. We are a family of four, with two children under five, and we all loved the space inside the villa (which could easily take another family), the veranda and the pool which, while shallow (1m?) for adults, is still a perfect plunge pool for cooling down and ideal for anyone with kids learning to swim. Our stay at Limeri was excellent. It’s a beautiful spacious house with stunning views. Manos, Maria and her father were so accommodating and gave us some great recommendations on local restaurants, beaches, butchers and the fish market.

The place is very peaceful and quite. The view is amazing. Car is definitely needed. Hosts were perfect. Highly recommend.

It was wonderful at Villa Limeri. The house is as beautiful as on the photos. Of course the Villa and its interior is rustic but that is its charm and it was very clean. Simply exquisite. Our own little paradise away from the noise and tourists. Nestled in the gorgeous mountains, this stunning and luxurious villa has breathtaking views and enough space for a large family. The service was wonderful, with shopping in the fridge in arrival and a wealth of helpful information provided to us ahead of our stay. Thank you to the hosts.

Aucun vis avis. Endroit vraiment très tranquille.

This villa is perfect. Stunning scenery and ambiance. So peaceful. Perfect in every way to get total calm. The stars were amazing, the roaming goats delightful, the views inspirational and the pool a delight. Lovely and spacious. Great service and communication. A true treat. Thanks.

We spent two weeks at Villa Limeri. The house is a lifetime's dream of Andreas who built it (and is still building around it) for the last 12 years, creating an impressive three bedroom / two bathroom house with a over 60sqm living room/kitchen overlooking one of the magnificent valleys between Réthymnon and Plakias.
